Couples Counselling

My mission as a Registered Psychologist is to empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to build healthy relationships. Whether you are just starting a new relationship, or have been together for 40 years, marital therapy is always worth the investment.

Common areas of therapy include improvements in communication, conflict, intimacy, infidelity and secure functioning. Learn more about couples counselling.

Who is Couples Counselling for?

Couples therapy is a helpful tool for people in every stage or state of relationship. If you’re dating, engaged and looking for premarital therapy, newly married, married with young kids, or retired, marital therapy can help strengthen your relationship.

Every session is tailored to the need of the couple. Whether that is 1 visit or 10, there is no long term commitment required. If you’re struggling to communicate, or working through infidelity, therapy can help. If you’re feeling like the spark is missing and perhaps you’re more like roommates than romantic partners, therapy can help.

If you feel like this might be you, come try out just one visit to experience the benefits of therapy.

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling is a valuable tool for personal growth and self-improvement. By meeting one-on-one with a trained Registered Psychologist, individuals have the opportunity to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe and confidential environment. Through this process, clients can gain insight into their own patterns and identify areas for change. Counselling provides a supportive space for individuals to work through various challenges, such as relationship issues, stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

My Approach

My approach to both individual and marriage counselling is rooted in Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy, the Gottman method, and attachment. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them identify their strengths, overcome limiting beliefs, and develop practical strategies for achieving their goals. In individual therapy, we will work on both your beliefs and thoughts (cognitive) and your actions and behaviours (behavioural).  We will investigate different practical tools for your lifestyle, sleep and relationships, along with investigating your thought processes.

For nearly every couple, we will work through the do’s and don’ts of communication, what communication is, along with a set of practical tools to improve your communication. Additionally, we will work to strengthen connection and secure functioning as the foundation for healthy relationship.

My approach to couples counselling, marital therapy and individual therapy.
